Frustrated that some things don't work like they used to?

Move Tool

Ok, so back in the good old days, you could easily move an active selection, layer, text, etc. What the heck happened?

Updates happened. 

To restore the original behavior follow these steps:

  1. On the main Gimp tool window, click File -> Preferences
  2. In the Preferences window, there are a series of categories in a pane on the left. In this pane, select Tool Options
  3. Just above the buttons on the bottom of the window, is a check box, that says "Set layer or path as active", and has the Move Tool icon, check this.
You have now restored the old behavior
